Dane only has one chance to make a stellar first impression. Good thing there’s a lie detector present at his job interview! *BEEP* He’s screwed. And he’s going to find out just how much the truth really hurts.

There are millions of ways to tell a story …
This is part of the Parallel Lines project (2010) from Philips Cinema and Ridley Scott Associates.
Five short films. Five genres. Five of RSA’s hottest directors. One unifying piece of dialogue. Pushing the boundaries of cinematic viewing.
“Porcelain Unicorn” was the Grand Prize winner (as selected by Sir Ridley Scott) in the Parallel Lines film contest.
The piece below, “Baby Time”, was the People’s Voice winner (based on votes).
As you may be able to see already, it wasn’t just any film contest or crowd-sourcing campaign. Philips invited film makers to produce short films. They kicked things off by sponsoring 6 short films which shared the same fairly abstract, poetic dialogue:
It’s a Unicorn
Never seen one up close before
Get away, get away
All contestants were required to use the same dialogue in order to “Tell it their way”.
